At the End of the Circle’ is the sprawling, mystic new release from Multifrequency Records. This is the second EP from Belarus-based producer Hmmka. Picking up where last year’s ‘Svet & Teni’ left off, ‘At the End of the Circle’ delivers five diverse downtempo tracks, two produced with his wife Nimphea, that combine elegantly produced psydub with influences from all over the sonic spectrum. Lush pads leave lingering visions that slowly unfold, revealing dark primeval secrets in the footpaths of long-forgotten meadows. Listening to Hmmka’s music is to let one’s self go into formless ether of vibration, and float forever in each drop of existence that falls tenderly all about, like a warm summer rain. Throughout the album, epic synth crescendos build a message of fantastic hope in an otherwise bleak and abandoned future. Well-defined basslines provide a powerful accompaniment to the crisp percussion and exotic atmospheres, that drive home a truly timeless audio voyage into the epistemological mysterious of the universe.
