Like a cascading waterfall of sound, ManiPadma’s debut EP “Wind Chimes” comes pouring out of the speakers in a rush of alien-infused, laser-drenched synesthesia. This young German producer has crafted four powerful tales to present his unique take on hi-tech. With this release we’re asked to let go to the relentless pulse of the bass and electrifying ferocity of the percussion, as the vibrational force pulls us into the depths of a mighty black hole. A blink of singularity and the ego is slaughtered, pulled in a million simultaneous directions until nothing but perception remains. A haunting wave of serenity pierces the eerie atmospheres that layer, fold and form new sonic constructs before melting into shrill audio ether that encompasses each track, and stabilizes the journey presented throughout this release. With an alchemical approach to sound design and knack for melody-driven synthesis experimentation, “Wind Chimes” provides the vivid depth of story needed to keep up with the blistering tempos that waste no time in breaking the 200 bpm mark. Movements in the shadows behind the main structure of each song highlight a dedicated attention to production detail, that delivers a sinister secret to those willing to take the plunge.
